In case you missed them, here were some of the top headlines from the St. Charles Patch from the last few days.
City Investigates Outsourcing EMS Billing Service- Less than three years after making a $131,000 investment in software for the billing, collecting and reporting of emergency medical services, the City of St. Charles is questioning their current system's efficiency and effectiveness. On Tuesday night, the St. Charles City Council approved Fire Chief Rick Daly's request to look into outsourcing those services by issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP).
- Construction on the Residences at the Streets of St. Charles is moving along. The new 400,000 square foot residential block is part of the 26-acre mixed-use development which will eventually house two hotels along with restaurants, offices, businesses and entertainment venues.
- It's been seven years since St. Louis had a professional indoor soccer team, but the Ambush is back. "One of our goals from day one is to put a quality product on the field and bring a championship to the great fans in St. Louis. Reviving the champion Ambush name fits perfectly with that goal," said Andrew Haines, one of the new team's local owners.
- In early May, Jordan Layfayette Prince of St. Charles was charged with first degree murder, abuse of a child and forcible sodomy. Now, his girlfriend and the mother of the infant, Jessica Lynn Howell of O'Fallon, is also charged in the abuse and murder of her four-month old daughter.
