A Brand-New Ambush: Indoor Soccer Returns to St. Louis

Major Indoor Soccer League play begins October 12 at the Family Arena in St. Charles.

It's been seven years since St. Louis had a professional indoor soccer team, but the Ambush is back.

"One of our goals from day one is to put a quality product on the field and bring a championship to the great fans in St. Louis. Reviving the champion Ambush name fits perfectly with that goal," said Andrew Haines, one of the new team's local owners.

The Ambush held a press conference Tuesday, introducing Haines and his co-owners and coach Daryl Doran.

Doran has played for the original Steamers, the Storm and the Ambush, and coached the first Ambush to a championship in the 1994-95 season.

St. Charles' Family Arena will be the team's new home. The arena recently made $800,000 in improvements and upgrades, including new dasher boards, two high-definition video and scoring displays and ribbon boards around the middle deck.

Season tickets are now on sale. More information and a game schedule are available on the team's website
