ReplyWhy is it in St. Louis that people put their blinkers on and then change lanes without checking to see if they are going to hit someone? It's as if they think that putting on a blinker will magically make their lane change safe.

ReplyJoe, your job as a parent is to prepare your children for life. If you believe all that entails is "discipline", you're a fucking idiot.

ReplyI would like to compliment Dr. DuBray of Fort Zumwalt School District. He hasn't taken a raise in years and he's even been pressured to take a one. However, he says he doesn't need it. He makes under $100,000.

ReplyFor anyone who thinks private schools do not have any "oversight", you are wrong. The school where I work has a school board and we are accountable to the parents who are paying tuition. If we are not the best school, parents will simply move their kids somewhere else. Actually, it's better this way. The good schools prosper and grow while the bad ones are forced to close their doors. I know of a wonderful teacher from Rockwood, who won "Teacher of the Year" who threw her hands in the air and called it quits in favor of teaching at a private school. Let me say as someone who was on the inside...Rockwood is like cubic zerconia. From the outside it looks fantastic. From the inside, it's a nightmare.

Foxx, I pay property taxes to pay teachers. Being a teacher, I pay my own salary through my own taxes. Then I pay taxes on the income I earn. Then I pay taxes when I purchase something. I continue to pay taxes on items I've already purchased ( my car and my home). Then I pay taxes on the money to my heirs.
