A man pushed his ex-girlfriend hard enough that her face broke a window, giving her multiple cuts, police said. One of the cuts required four stitches. Daniel Oliver, 31, of the 1200 block of Drummond in Portage des Sioux, was charged Friday with second-degree domestic assault. St. Charles Police said Oliver argued with his ex-girlfriend at her St. Charles home Oct. 14. During the argument, he knocked over a flat screen TV, damaging it, and walked out of the house, police said. He returned and the two began arguing again. Oliver then pushed the woman onto the couch. She stood up and told him not to put his hands on her. Police said he then put his hands on her back and pushed her toward a window with enough force to cause her face to break…

A man is being charged for trying to break into a St. Charles house while the resident was home, according to a police report. Michael C. Matthews, 20, of the 1000 block of Vine Street, was charged Thursday for attempted first-degree burglary. St. Charles Police said Matthews and another unknown man knocked a front door June 18 in the 700 block of North Duchesne in St. Charles. When no one answered the door, they went around back and removed a screen from rear window and tried to open the window, police said. They were interrupted by the resident. Matthews told the owner that his daughter kicked a ball on the roof and asked if he could get it down, as the unknown man ran away. When the resident replied that he could get the ball down, …

A St. Charles woman faces criminal charges after police said she tried to break into a St. Louis County home Oct. 4. St. Louis County Police said Kelly Peirick, 24, of the 3100 block of Duquette Drive in St. Charles, and a man removed a screen from a house window in the 2100 block of Seven Pines Drive in St. Louis County. The unincorporated area is south of Maryland Heights near Creve Coeur Park. The two planned to open a window, crawl through it and burglarize the home, police said. The window would not open wide enough for them to get through. Peirick was charged Friday with second-degree attempted burglary. The man has not yet been charged. Bail was set at $10,000.
