Woman Lured Man to Hotel Room Where He Was Stabbed and Robbed, Police Say

When the man entered the room at the Northwest Airport Inn May 10, another man stabbed and robbed him, and he attacker and the woman split the money, , Bridgeton Police said.

A woman lured a man to her motel room in Bridgeton May 10 where a St. Charles man lying in wait stabbed him in the chest and robbed him, police said. Bridgeton Police said Lindsay Dames, 19, arranged for the man to be robbed by David Smith, 47, who waited at the Northwest Airport Inn at 3570 North Lindbergh Blvd. in Bridgeton, an extended stay motel. When Dames and the man entered her room, Smith attacked the man, stabbing him in the chest and lacerating his liver, according to a police report. They took cash and a cell phone from the man, according to a court document. St. Charles should require landlords to charge prospective tenants for and run criminal background and credit checks in St. Charles, and require renters with criminal records to purchase a license from the city before they can rent. Some of the trash might move on to greener pastures.   more ›

Woman Steals Man's Wallet from Hotel, Gambles $2,000 Away

Police said the woman also hid the man's cell phone so he couldn't call her, and borrowed his truck.

A woman stole $2,600 and hid a cell phone from a man as he slept in a St. Charles hotel room Nov. 23. She then lost all but nearly $2,000 gambling at Ameristar Casino, police said. Huyen Thi Nguyen, 40, was charged Monday with felony theft. The victim told St. Charles Police Nguyen also took his truck, but she had keys to the vehicle and he permitted her to drive it. He told police he had been helping Nguyen out, but did not give her permission to take his money as they stayed at InTown Suites, 1769 Veterans Memorial Parkway in St. Charles. Nguyen told police she took the money because she had a gambling problem. She also said she hid the man’s cell phone by wrapping it in a coat and hiding it under the bed so he could not contact her. …
