Recycle City Open House/Race to Recycling Duathlon & 1-Mile Fun Walk/Run St. Peters hosts an open house along with a run and other events on April 27. Volunteer to help guide Recycle City Open House tours, assist with the Recycle City booth, or check in race participants, pass out water and direct bikers. Spring Special Olympics Help out at the Special Olympics track and field and aquatic activities at Westminister Christian Academy, 800 Maryville Centre Dr., Town and Country on April 27. Opening ceremonies begin at 8:30 a.m. with events wrapping up at 3:30 p.m. Volunteers are still needed for buddies and to cheer on athletes in the stands.  O'Fallon RSC 5K Run Walk and Kids Fun Run Up to 300 competitors, adults and children, will come out…

Potentials Resale Now Open in St. Charles

The resale shop benefits the local non-profit Youth in Need.

If you’re looking for some new gently-used furniture, jewelry, clothes or home décor, you need look no further than South Fifth Street in St. Charles. Potentials Resale opened its doors at 325 S. Fifth St. early last week. The shop first opened in April 2011 in Creve Coeur before it moved to St. Charles this month for less expensive rent and to be closer to its headquarters. When you shop at Potentials, you’re not just supporting a local business—you’re helping out local families.    The revenue from the resale boutique benefits Youth in Need, a St. Charles-based non-profit that provides crisis prevention and intervention programs for local children and families. Habitat for Humanity ReStore Seeks Volunteers

Find out how you can help.

Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County is looking for someone to help procuring donations for the Habitat ReStore, located at 130 Trade Center Dr W  St Peters, MO 63376.  Volunteers would call businesses requesting donations of building materials that are sold in the thrift store. Volunteers would work 4-6 hours each week Tuesday through Thursday.  Procurement volunteers will start telephoning targeted entities immediately. The objective of the phone calls is to generate donations through relationship building. Volunteers must pass a background check. Head here to sign up or learn more.

Volunteer Tax Preparers Needed in St. Charles, St. Louis and Jefferson Counties

Volunteers help prepare basic tax returns for low income and people with disabilities from February through April.

Volunteers from St. Louis and surrounding counties are sought to provide free tax counseling and basic income tax return preparation through the Gateway EITC Community Coalition and AARP. Volunteers must have basic computer skills to complete the e-learning course.
