Tucanos Brazilian Grill Celebrates Grand Opening

The new restaurant kicks off a charity initiative pitting four local charities against one another.

Tucanos Brazilian Grill welcomed city leaders to a preview of the restaurant on Tuesday night, the day before the restaurant planned to open to the public.  The restaurant, located at 1520 South Fifth Street, features Brazilian dining. It's among one of the first restaurants in the Streets of St. Charles development to open.  "We are so excited they're here in St. Charles City," Mayor Sally Faith said on Tuesday. "They have a beautiful facility, wonderful food and the fact that they are already involved with local charities--that's community."  The restaurant is kicking off a benefit for four local charities in conjunction with the opening. Tucanos Brazilian Grill Pushes Back Grand Opening

Restaurant will open to the public Feb. 27.

Tucanos Brazilian Grill has pushed back its grand opening date two weeks to Feb. 26 and will not be taking reservations for Valentine's Day. The restaurant in January announced a Feb. 13 open date.  Now Tucanos is planning to host an invite-only grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting on Feb. 26. It will open to the public on Feb. 27.  Tucanos is one of two restaurants opening this spring in the Streets of St. Charles development.Prasino, an eco-friendly restaurant, plans to open in April.  The Brazilian Grill is a churrascaria, which means servers will walk around with large skewers of meat and vegetables that have been cooked rotisserie style. Tucanos also has a large salad bar available.
