If there's one thing St. Charles residents enjoy, it's trying out a new restaurant or bar. Last week, an article about a new restaurant opening in March garnered several comments from fans on Facebook and our site. The waitresses at the Celtic-themed Tilted Kilt restaurant wear costumes consisting of knee-high white socks, a plaid skirt and plaid bra with a midriff-baring white shirt. The restaurant's website says, “A cold beer never looked so good.” After we posted a photo of the uniforms on Facebook, readers were quick to weigh in. What do you think of the uniforms? The target date for the new Celtic-themed Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery to open is March 11, less than a week from St. Patrick’s Day. “We have beer on tap, a full bar, a full menu with everything from wings through steaks,” said franchise owner Paul DiBenedetto. “We’ll have 45 flat-screen TVs with roughly every sports package you can think of.” The new restaurant will open at 1566 Country Club Plaza Drive along South First Capitol Drive, formerly Wiliker’s Bar and Restaurant. The Tilted Kilt is like Hooters with a Scottish-Irish theme. Considering the staff are being treated like a pair of boobs, it's not surprising that the customers are going to get attitude. I imagine female customers will likely get more attitude while the men get flirting in the hopes of tips. These kinds of places are sexist and disgraceful.   more ›
