Orchard Farm School District Names New Superintendent

Board of Education hired Thomas Muzzey after interviewing several candidates.

Thomas Muzzey was named the new Superintendent of the Orchard Farm School District, the district announced on Friday. Current Superintendent Dan Dozier has been with the district for 31 years and planned to step down at the end of the school year. Thomas Muzzey has served as the Warren County School Superintendent for two years. Before that he worked as associate superintendent and assistant superintendent in the Hillsboro R-3 School District “Dr. Tom Muzzey brings a proven track record of success the school system," Board presient Elmer Dwyer said in a press release. Jeff Marion Named New Superintendent of St. Charles School District

Marion is currently serving as the human resources director for the district.

St. Charles School District announced on Friday that Jeff Marion was chosen as the new superintendent for the school district. Current Superintendent Randy Charles announced plans to retire at the end of the 2011-12 school year. Marion will assume his new duties July 1, 2012. Marion has worked for the district as assistant superintendent of human resources for four years. Before that, he worked as a high school principal in the Pattonville School District.  “We are pleased that Dr. Marion has been selected as our next superintendent! Principal of One School Prepares to Reopen Another

Harris Elementary School Principal Melvin Bishop takes on challenge of reopening Blackhurst Elementary.

During the past few weeks Melvin Bishop has researched playground equipment, talked library books with librarians and attended many, many meetings about reopening Blackhurst Elementary School. St. Charles School District leaders tapped Bishop to be the new principal of Blackhurst Elementary when it opens next fall -- in the meantime he's still principal at Harris Elementary School. The challenge of opening a "new school" is one that excites Bishop, who has been principal at Harris Elementary for the past seven years. "It's been interesting," he said.
