Read Saint Louis Brings Pulitzer Prize Winner to Town

Richard Ford, author of "Canada," is one of five authors who will speak at libraries in St. Charles and St. Louis counties and St. Louis city.

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Ford will come to St. Louis in March as one of the authors featured in Read Saint Louis, a community initiative created by the St. Louis City and St. Louis County Library systems to encourage reading and discussion. Leaders of the area library systems met at Kathryn Linnemann Library branch to kick off Read Saint Louis 2013 on Tuesday. St. Charles County Libraries to Participate in Read St. Louis

The St. Charles City-County Library will host author Deborah Hopkinson and St. Louis illustrator John Hendrix.

The St. Charles City-County Library is participating for the first time this year in the Read St. Louis initiative, which is an initiative developed by St. Louis County Library and St. Louis Public Library to encourage St. Louisans to read and discuss books. The initiative, which first launched in 2009, features different books and authors each year. St. Charles City-County Library will join the other libraries this year in hosting events showcasing the featured authors and their work.
