St. Charles Man Indicted on Two Counts of Domestic Assault

St. Charles Police said Ali Hadi Abaalharith, in the country on a student visa, beat his former girlfriend twice within seven months.

A St. Charles County grand jury indicted a man Friday on two counts of second-degree domestic assault. Ali Hadi Abaalharith, 26, of the 300 block of Scenic Drive in St. Charles, is accused of beating his then girlfriend on two occasions. St. Charles Police said Abaalharith on April 7, 2012 struck the woman repeatedly in the face, head and legs and choked her for at least 30 seconds. Then, police said he struck the same woman with a leather belt, a computer power cord, grabbed her cell phone and tried to restrict her to the bedroom. Abaalharith is from Saudi Arabia and is in the United States on a student visa. Man Indicted for Sodomy, Murder in 4-Month-Old Baby's Death

A St. Charles County grand jury indicted Jordan Lafayette Prince on charges he sexually assaulted and murdered a 4-month-old infant.

A St. Charles man was indicted Friday on forcible sodomy and child abuse charges in addition to first-degree murder in the death of a 4-month-old baby. A St. Charles County grand jury indicted Jordan Lafayette Prince, 24, of the 3600 block of Fremont Drive in St. Charles, for choking a 4-month-old baby on Dec. 3. The child died Dec. 4. Man Indicted for Murder in St. Charles Domestic Assault Case

St. Charles County prosecutors said Steven Martineau beat his girlfriend, Linda Cerutti, on May 26. She died 15 days later.

A St. Charles County grand jury indicted Steven J. Martineau Jan. 18 for second-degree murder, second-degree domestic assault and third-degree domestic assault in the beating death of his girlfriend. Prosecutors said Martineau assaulted Linda Cerutti May 26, causing severe head trauma. She remained unconscious and died June 10 as a result of her injuries. She was 50 years old. Martineau next has a court appearance scheduled for Feb. 22. Martineau also is charged with a Feb. 26 assault on Cerutti, which was witnessed by another woman, according to St. Charles Police. Police said he hit her twice in the face, knocking her to the floor. The police report indicated he punched her because she stayed out until the early morning hours. Martineau …

Man Indicted on 11 Sex Crime Charges

The four incidents date back to June 2011 and include some crimes in the city of St. Charles, police said.

A St. Peters man was indicted by a St. Charles County grand jury Friday on 11 counts of sex crimes, including forcible rape and child molestation. Jason W. Champion, 22, of the first block of Churchill Downs Drive in St. Peters, faces the following charges: The charges stem from incidents on four dates: June 4, 2011; June 24, 2011; May 21 and June 17. Champion originally was charged with forcible rape and statutory sodomy in St. Peters on May 21. An investigation uncovered more allegations, including some in St. Charles, according to police. Champion is being held in St. Charles County Corrections in lieu of a $100,000, cash-only bond. His request for a bond reduction was denied July 25.
