Resident Catches Men Trying to Open His Window
Police said they matched a fingerprint from a window to the defendant.
A man is being charged for trying to break into a St. Charles house while the resident was home, according to a police report. Michael C. Matthews, 20, of the 1000 block of Vine Street, was charged Thursday for attempted first-degree burglary. St. Charles Police said Matthews and another unknown man knocked a front door June 18 in the 700 block of North Duchesne in St. Charles. When no one answered the door, they went around back and removed a screen from rear window and tried to open the window, police said. They were interrupted by the resident.
