Online registering helps some patients in St. Charles and other metro St. Louis communities get treatment faster, with a personal touch.
Long waits and emergency rooms are almost synonymous. Now SSM Health Care is trying to do away with delays in emergency care with a new service called InQuicker. “While this service is not meant to eliminate waiting times, it will give people a more convenient option when needing treatment,” said Sean Hogan, president of SSM Ambulatory Services, in a news release. Patients with minor emergencies can wait at home instead of the ER by registering online. Five SSM Emergency Departments now provide this service: Convenient caring The free InQuicker service has been available at those locations since November, said Kristen Johnson, a media relations specialist for SSM Health Care. “We rolled it out formally on Dec. 26,” she said. St. Charles City and SSM St. Joseph Health Center host public meetings.
St. Charles is asking community members and business owners to help envision a plan for the future of Fifth Street and the area surrounding SSM St. Joseph Health Center. The city and SSM are hosting a series of public planning and design meetings to get input on a future plan for the area. The first meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight in the fellowship hall of St. John United Church of Christ. Navy Bean Soup offers a healthy winter option.
I really enjoy making messes in the kitchen. Cleaning them up? Not so much. My husband and I have an arrangement. If one of us makes dinner, the other one cleans the kitchen. Lucky for me, I'm usually the one who is home first and gets to flip through my cookbooks and figure out what we're eating. I typically scan the ingredients list, mentally reviewing whether we have what's needed. Usually, I forget to check the basics. Do we have any eggs? Flour? Bread crumbs? I always assume the answer is yes. Inevitably, we are out of something. This leads to an important choice: Go to the store to pick up the forgotten item or "wing it" and use something else.
