Building Super, Harvester Residents Steal Office Furniture in Craigslist Caper, Police Say

The company was moving its headquarters when its office furniture disappeared, then showed up on the online resale site.

Three Harvester residents and an O'Fallon man are accused of stealing $75,000 in office furniture from a company that was changing headquarters. One Harvester resident was the superintendent for the Maryland Heights building where the furniture was stolen. Maryland Heights Police said they caught the four after the building superintendent listed the furniture on Craigslist. The following people were charged Nov. 15 with felony stealing more than $25,000, a class B felony: Police said that GMAC Insurance was moving its headquarters to Cleveland and was vacating the Maryland Heights building at 13736 Riverport Drive.
