Two Prisoners Indicted in Jailhouse Attack That Hospitalized Man
The victim, another St. Charles County jail inmate, required surgery to repair fractures in his face, head and jaw, police said.
Two men were indicted by a St. Charles grand jury Jan. 18 on second-degree assault charges related to a jailhouse attack on another man. A St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department report said that Robert E. Martin II, 39, and Steven T. Scott, 20, attacked another inmate in the St. Charles County Justice Center, 200 North Second St., on April 5. Scott lives in the 100 block of Bear Claw Drive in Wentzville; Martin lives in the 2000 block of Santa Fe Street in St. Charles. According to the report, Martin and Scott struck the man repeatedly struck the man in the face. Scott struck the man repeatedly with his elbow, according to court documents.
