Hotshots Plans to Rebuild in St. Charles

Hotshots, located at 1636 Country Club Plaza Dr. in St. Charles, plans to rebuild following an April 6 fire that gutted the restaurant.

The owners of Hotshots in St. Charles say they plan to rebuild after a fire destroyed the establishment on April 6, the Associated Press reports. Hotshots was destroyed by a fire that is thought to have started in the kitchen. Related: Fox 2 Video: Fire Destroys Hotshots Sports Bar No one was injured in the fire, which started around 3 a.m. The strip mall houses a dozen businesses, but firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to nearby businesses, including an Outback Steakhouse which received minor smoke damage.

Woman Injured in Condo Fire

Fire spread to several condominiums in the Sherman Oaks Condominium Complex.

A woman sustained minor injuries in a condo fire that started early Monday morning, according to a story in the St. Charles Suburban Journals. The fire started just before 6 a.m. and was contained quickly by fire fighters. The injured woman lived in the apartment at which the fire started at 1736 South Wisteria Lane. She was treated at the scene and then taken to a hospital for second degree burns, according to a story on ksdk.  Neighboring apartments received fire and water damage and were evacuated. Firefighters Battle Apartment Blaze Near Zumbehl and I-70 Intersection

The three-alarm fire began at 499 San Miguel Drive. No injuries have been reported.

Nearly 50 firefighters are battling a blaze at the Sandalwood Creek Apartments near St. Charles, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. The three-alarm fire began at 499 San Miguel Drive, the report said. No injuries have been reported. Sandalwood Creek Apartments is located off of Veterans Memorial Parkway, just east of Zumbehl Road and offers one and two-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom townhomes.

Fire Destroys 16-Unit Apartment Building on Spring Avenue

One man jumped from the second-floor balcony to escape.

A fire destroyed a 16-unit apartment building located in the 800 block of Spring Avenue Saturday night.  One person jumped from a second floor balcony, according to a post on KSDK.com. Several people were taken to a hospital for their injuries.  Fire fighters helped several people escape from the fire.  None of the 16 apartments is inhabitable. The American Red Cross was there to help three people or families who needed a place to stay. Volunteers also helped providing water and food to people displaced and to emergency responders.

Six Homes Damaged in Four-Alarm Fire at Heritage Landing Condo Complex

A pregnant woman was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. Fire fighters were able to rescue several pets from the homes.

One woman was injured in a four-alarm fire at the Heritage Landing Condominium complex Monday morning that involved six homes.  The condo complex is west of Highway 364/Page Extension and south of Highway 94 in unincorporated St. Charles County. This building has 24 units total.  Central County Fire and Rescue Fire Chief Russ Mason said dispatchers got the call around 7:53 a.m. A fire in a commercial building is automatically a two alarm fire, but after crews arrived and discovered how heavy the fire was, they activated the third and eventually fourth alarms. Homeless Man Stealing Pipes Started Motel Fire, Police Say

The Arch Budget Motel caught fire Tuesday after a burglar damaged a gas line, a St. Charles Police said in a report.

A homeless man stealing copper pipes may have caused Tuesday afternoon’s fire at the Arch Budget Motel in St. Charles, according to a police report. The fire damaged four rooms at the motel, according to a St. Louis Post Dispatch article. No one was injured. Thomas Gilley, 23, was charged Thursday with first-degree burglary. St. Charles Police said in a report that Gilley broke into a storage area at the rear of the Arch Budget Motel, 3717 Veterans Memorial Parkway, damaging a door and doorframe with a shovel. He was trying to steal copper pipes, he told police. According to the report, as Gilley was breaking off copper pipes, he damaged a gas line, but continued his attempt to steal the pipes. St. Charles Woman Left Homeless After Thanksgiving Day Fire

The woman and her dog barely escaped before the home was engulfed in flames.

When Diane Hollingsworth woke up to a bedroom full of smoke on Thanksgiving morning, she and her dog had just enough time to escape the fire before her home was engulfed in flames. The entire back of Hollingsworth’s home, located at 38 Red Cedar Court, was on fire with flames shooting through the roof when St. Charles firefighters arrived Thursday morning just after 7:00 am. After confirming that everyone was out of the home, firefighters went inside and attacked the fire from the interior. Firefighters managed to get the fire under control within about a half hour, but Hollingsworth’s home sustained heavy smoke and fire damage. While no firefighters were injured fighting the blaze, damages to the home were estimated at more than $150,000…
