A St. Charles man faces his fifth DWI charge within the last two years and his sixth alcohol-related driving charge overall. He was pulled over after leaving an accident scene at the Blanchette Bridge Wednesday, police said. Bart Laster, 40, of the 1000 block of Cole Boulevard in St. Charles, was charged Wednesday with driving while intoxicated as an aggravated offender and leaving the scene of an accident. Laster was eastbound on Interstate 70 on the Blanchette Bridge when he caused an accident, according to a probable cause statement. He left the scene, but was pulled over by Maryland Heights Police, the probable cause statement reads. A Lindenwood University diving coach was stopped for driving the wrong way on Interstate 70 and brought into custody before he spit at and attempted to assault officers, St. Peters Police said. Patch reported earlier that Kyle Friesenhahn, 25, of the 1000 block of Pine Street in St. Charles, was charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer. Officer Melissa Doss, spokesperson for St. Peters Police, said the department requested the St. Charles County Prosecutor’s Office to file driving while intoxicated charges against Friesenhahn. A man intentionally drove over a pedestrian just after midnight Dec. 2 in the 900 block of North Main Street, according to a St. Charles Police report. Dean Scott Hodge, 48, of the 2400 block of Eagle Forest Drive in St. Charles, was charged Dec. 3 with second-degree assault, operating a vehicle with criminal negligence. St. Charles Police said the two men had argued and Hodge got in his car to leave, He was intoxicated at the time, police said. Lt. The St. Charles Police Department will host a multijurisdictional DWI checkpoint this weekend. Officers from the St. Charles Police department will be joined by officers from the St. Peters Police Department and deputies from the St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department and other agencies. While the exact location of the operation is notbeing disclosed, it will be within the City of St. Charles. The operation is funded by a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation, Division of Highway and Traffic Safety. A St. Charles man was charged Wednesday with involuntary manslaughter for an April 17 crash in Maryland Heights that killed two passengers in his car. John Recklein, 22, of the first block of Robert Drive in St. Charles, was charged with first-degree involuntary manslaughter--driving while intoxicated. The crash killed Natasha Galenski, a 17-year-old St. Peters girl, and 23-year-old Jared T. Nevenner, of Caseyville. Galenski died four days after the accident. Recklein’s blood-alcohol content was 0.179 percent, more than double the legal limit, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. A St. Charles County man was charged Friday with causing a 2010 accident on the Blanchette Bridge while driving drunk. Anthony Hutchins, 28, of the 1300 block of Summergate Parkway in St. Charles County, was charged with second-degree assaul and driving while intoxicated. St. Louis County Police said Hutchins was speeding at 4:50 a.m. Sept. 25, 2010 when he hit the back of the first victim’s car. The collision caused that car to spin out of control and hit two bridge walls. A third car then struck the second car. Drivers of both victims’ cars were injured. The second driver had bruises to the back of his head. The third driver had a punctured lung, broken ribs and a chipped hip bone. Hutchins also was taken to the hospital with lower back …

St. Charles Police will work with other police agencies on checkpoint, which is at an undetermined location.
Police from St. Charles, St. Peters and St. Chalres County Sheriff's Deputies will work a DWI checkpoint during the week of June 4-10 somewhere in St. Charles. The exact location of the checkpoint is not being disclosed, however. Grant funding from the Missouri Department of Transportation, Division of Highway and Traffic Safety is funding the operation.

Jason Mathis was arrested after passing out at the wheel of his car in Creve Coeur.
Jason Mathis, who lives on Scarlet Court in St. Charles, was arrested Friday by Creve Coeur police after passing out in his car and failing a field sobriety test, according to a STL Today article. Mathis, 35, was charged as a Driving While Intoxicated persistent offender, with two previous DWI charges. He refused a breathalizer test but his blood sample was taken after a warrant was issued.

He will never learn!!! All he cares about is going out 7 days a week and getting drunk/stoned/high. This makes 7 DWI's for him. Just think about how many times he didn't get caught. From 2004 to 2007 he got 1 in Pine Lawn and 2 in Woodson Terrace. In 2011 from May to September he got 1 in Town and Country, 1 in St. Peters, and 1 in Creve Coeur.
