Connections to Success Hosts Christmas Party

More than 400 clients and their families attended the holiday bash, held Saturday.

Connections to Success held its annual Christmas Party for clients of the nonprofit and their families on Saturday.  The event included lunch, a health fair with free flu shots, fun and activities.  Children in attendance could play games, take a photo with Santa and select a gift to give someone in their family for the holidays. The Muny Kids also performed. Organizers estimated they had 100 volunteers helping with the event.  Learn more about Connections to Success here.

Business News: Bike Stop Cafe Considers Move to Main Street

Also, Connections to Success could win $10,000 in grant program.

2nd Street Bike Stop Cafe May Move to Main Street Jodi Devonshire and Tony Caruso, owners of the 2nd Street Bike Stop Cafe in Frenchtown, are pondering moving the shop to South Main Street into a building located behind John Dengler Tobacconist.  The 1,500 square foot building is owned by former city councilman Larry Muench and used to be the home of the Lewis and Clark Museum and Nature Center, which moved to the Boat House on the riverfront.  Muench said nothing has been formalized, however, he's hopeful that the location would work well for the Bike Stop Cafe.  "They'll have a bigger outside section and a bigger inside section," he said, adding there aren't too many places to grab breakfast on South Main Street. We need to work to come up with creative ways to link these two areas. I think that Frenchtown needs more businesses like the Bike Stop to become more of a destination than a drive through. I can see for them that being closer to the Katy Trail would benefit their business though.   more ›

Summer Volunteer Opportunities for St. Charles and Beyond

Deliver meals to seniors, volunteer with hospice.

Sorting Room Attendant Needed at Connections to Success  Connections to Success is looking for volunteers to provide sorting room help during business hours at the St. Charles office. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Volunteers will greet clients, donors and visitors, sort through incoming donations and stock, prepare rejected donations to be passed on. Learn more here.  Deliver Meals to Home-Bound Seniors  Volunteer at the St. Charles Senior Center to deliver hot meals to seniors. Deliveries run Monday-Friday and start at 10 a.m. A route takes about an hour. Volunteer just one day a week. Learn more here.
