A 53-year-old woman died after she lost control on icy patch of the highway. Paramedics found the woman dead on the road about 30 feet from the vehicle. She appeared to have suffered severe head injuries.
Update: The driver in the crash has been identified. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the driver was Gwendolyn F. Hopson, 53, of Florissant. Hopsonwas pronounced dead at 7:03 a.m. after the crash. Previous story: A woman was killed after being thrown from her vehicle in an early-morning crash on Highway 364 in St. Charles County. According to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch, a 53-year-old woman lost control on icy patch of the highway. Christopher Cook sustained minor injuries in a traffic crash on Interstate 70 in St. Peters.
A St. Charles man was injured in a traffic collision last Wednesday in St. Peters . Christopher Cook, 43, sustained minor injuries after being involved in a crash on Aug. 15 on Interstate 70 just east of Mid Rivers Mall Drive. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report , Cook was traveling eastbound on I-70 when another driver, 26-year-old Florissant resident Joel Herr, changed lanes. Herr's semi-truck struck the side of Cook's 1993 Honda Civic. The impact caused minor damage to Herr's 2007 International Truck Tractor and extensive damage to Cook's vehicle. St. Charles County Ambulance took Cook to St. Joseph's Hospital with minor injuries.

Three St. Louis-area teenagers were involved in a golf cart crash Saturday night.
Three teens, including one from St. Charles, were injured in a golf cart crash Saturday night. The crash occurred just after 6 p.m. four miles of Ironton on Killarney Drive. The golf cart, driven by 16-year-old Matthew Bruns of Kirkwood, crossed a T-intersection and overturned in a ditch. Riding with Bruns in the cart were 15-year-old St Charles resident Andrew Huber and 15-year-old St. Peters resident Lauren Gamache. Bruns and Huber were taken by ambulance to Iron County Hospital with minor injuries. Gamache was taken by ambulance to Parkland Hospital with moderate injuries. The golf cart sustained minor damage.

The number of people speeding and weaving through traffic on the Page Extension is amazing. Add to that the slip ramps with obstructed views of oncoming traffic and people having limited space to move over 2-3 lanes and I'm surprised more people haven't been killed already.   more ›
