Restaurant Inspections: Di Olivas, Bass Pro, QuikTrip Earn Top Scores

St. Charles County Health Department inspects restaurants several times a year. This is part one of the list of inspections completed between Dec. 1 and Jan. 31.

St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment regularly inspects food service establishments throughout St. Charles County, except for within limits of St. Peters. Businesses are inspected one to four times a year or after public complaints. "Lower-risk" places, like gas-stations that serve pre-packaged foods, are inspected less often than "higher-risk" places, like a restaurant, said Doug Bolnick, spokesman for the health department. The establishments begin with a score of 100 and points are deducted based on the severity of problems observed. St. Charles Police Arrest Fourth Suspect in Christmas Eve Shooting

Jevone L. Little, of St. Louis, is accused of shooting and killing Brandon Joyce, 26.

St. Charles Police and members of the St. Louis Major Case Squad today arrested Jevone L. Little, 20, the fourth person suspected in the killing of Duchesne High School graduate Brandon Joyce. Police arrested Little today at 1:45 p.m. in the 2200 block of Hord in Jennings. He has been charged with murder in the second degree, first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. His bond was set at $1 million, cash only. According to court documents, Little, of St. Louis, and another suspect, Cory J. Brooks, of O'Fallon, allegedly met Joyce on Dec. 24 and got into his car. Joyce planned to buy drugs from the men, according to police. Joyce and a friend got in the car with the men and went to an ATM. They ended up behind America's Best Value Inn…

Friends, Coaches Remember Slain Duchesne Grad

Brandon Joyce died Dec. 28 after he was shot in St. Charles Christmas Eve.

Among his friends and teammates, Brandon Joyce will be remembered as the guy who was always smiling. The 6-foot-5 football player and 2003 Duchesne High School graduate died Dec. 28, four days after he was shot in the head while trying to buy narcotics, according to police. Three men have been charged in the killing and police are still looking for a fourth person, the suspected shooter. Joyce is the son of Terry and Linda Joyce, who live in unincorporated St. Charles County. Terry Joyce played for the St. Louis Cardinals as a punter in 1976 and 1977. Brandon Joyce is also survived by his sister, Lindsay Joyce.  Former coaches and friends of Joyce said they were saddened and shocked to hear of his death. "It's surprising when this happens…
