A St. Charles man threw dishes, damaged furniture and screamed; when deputies arrested him, he spit at and threatened them and damaged the police vehicle, according to a report.

A St. Charles man damaged bedroom furniture, dishes and a patrol car after officers responded to the scene Monday. Kenneth Hart, of the 3600 block of Fairview Drive in St. Charles, began throwing things throughout the house, knocking over furniture and yelling Monday, said a St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy. His girlfriend, who owns the broken items, fled from the home because she feared for her safety, the deputy said. As officials were arresting Hart, he spit at one deputy and threatened him. Hart said, “All I have to do is kill one (expletive) pig and I can be with the rest of my family in prison,” according to a court document. The man had violated probation and had a pending meth case, according to court documents.
A St. Charles man fought with St. Charles County Drug Task Force detectives Monday as they sought to question him. Gary Glenn McConnell, 53, of the 2400 block of Chesstal Street in St. Charles, was charged Tuesday with making methamphetamine and assaulting an officer. A task force member said that McConnell walked out of his home as detectives pulled up in front of his home. Detectives wearing badges around their necks identified themselves and approached him. McConnell walked quickly toward his car, opened the door and dove in, a detective said in the report. Detectives ordered him out of the car, but he tried putting the car into drive. A check on a woman who bought too much pseudoephedrine leads Sheriff's Department detectives to two meth labs.
The St. Charles County Drug Task Force arrested three O’Fallon residents, including one at a St. Charles hotel, in a string of methamphetamine-related charges last week. Prosecutors filed charges in St. Charles County Circuit Court against the three June 20: Detectives said in a report that they checked on Riffle June 19 because she had a large pseudoephedrine purchase history, according to registry records Riffle told task force members she bought the meth ingredient and traded it to Harness and his girlfriend, Henke, for finished meth. Detectives found meth paraphernalia and a small amount of meth in Riffle’s bedroom, according to the report. Cost to repair damages to the St. Charles Police car were more than $750.
A St. Charles man was charged Thursday with kicking out a patrol car window and spitting at a police officer. Dennis Ruiz, 37, of the 200 block of Booneslick Road, faces charges of assaulting a police officer and first-degree property damage charges. In court documents, St. Charles Police said Ruiz had been arrested and placed in the back of a patrol car Tuesday, when he kicked out the rear passenger window, bending the the window frame.
