One Month Before Wedding, Man Bloodies Fiancé's Nose in St. Charles

St. Charles County Police say Robert Devine assaulted his fiancé by pushing her to the ground, hitting her in the face and shutting a door on her leg, which had recently been through a knee-replacement surgery.

A man faces domestic abuse charges after St. Charles County deputies said he bloodied his fiance’s nose on May 10. Robert G. Devine, 55, of the 3300 block of Cross Keys Drive in Florissant, was charged Friday with third-degree domestic assault. A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy said Devine was arguing with his fiancé in the 3500 block of Ipswich Lane in St. Charles County when he pushed her into a wall and a desk, cutting her arm. He then struck her in the face, giving her a bloody nose, the deputy reported. The woman fell and tried to get up, but Devine pushed her back down and pulled her hair, according to a report. St. Charles Man Indicted on Two Counts of Domestic Assault

St. Charles Police said Ali Hadi Abaalharith, in the country on a student visa, beat his former girlfriend twice within seven months.

A St. Charles County grand jury indicted a man Friday on two counts of second-degree domestic assault. Ali Hadi Abaalharith, 26, of the 300 block of Scenic Drive in St. Charles, is accused of beating his then girlfriend on two occasions. St. Charles Police said Abaalharith on April 7, 2012 struck the woman repeatedly in the face, head and legs and choked her for at least 30 seconds. Then, police said he struck the same woman with a leather belt, a computer power cord, grabbed her cell phone and tried to restrict her to the bedroom. Abaalharith is from Saudi Arabia and is in the United States on a student visa. Man Smashed Beer Bottle Over Ex-Girlfriend's Head, Severely Cutting Face and Head

Michael Alan Nunn, of St. Charles, was charged with second-degree domestic assault after police say he broke a beer bottle over his ex-girlfriend’s head Thursday, cutting her face and head in three places.

A St. Charles man broke a beer bottle over his ex-girlfriend’s head Thursday, cutting her face and head in three places. One three-inch-long gash was deep enough to cause underlying fatty tissue to protrude, according to a court document. Michael Alan Nunn, 43, of the 1400 block of Carbine Lane in St. Charles, was charged Thursday with second-degree domestic assault. The assault took place at their home, police said. He and his ex-girlfriend live together, according to a police report. Man Threatened to Throw Girlfriend Down Stairs, Then Locked Her in the Basement, Deputy Says

A St. Charles County Sheriff's deputy reported the assaults were part of a 12-year abusive relationship.

A St. Charles County man faces criminal charges for assaulting his girlfriend on two consecutive days. Christerpher Lee Moore, 29, of the 2800 block of South River Road south of St. Charles, was charged Thursday with two counts of third-degree domestic assault. A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy said Moore grabbed his girlfriend at the top of some stairs on March 2 and jerked her as if he were going to throw her down the stairs. The deputy said Moore said should end her life. He then locked her in the basement, knowing it would cause her to have a panic attack, according to the report. Man Slashed Girlfriend's Wrists, Punched Her in Face, Police Say

St. Charles Police said the couple have nine police reports involving domestic assaults.

A St. Charles man cut his girlfriend's wrists with a razor and punched her in the face Saturday, police said. St. Charles Police said David Heitmann, 28, of the first block of Pembrook Drive in St. Charles, was drunk when he became enraged for an unknown reason. He punched his girlfriend in the face several times, causing severe bruising and swelling to her face, police said. During the assault, Heitmann retrieved an eyebrow razor and cut the woman's right and left wrists, according to the police report. Heitmann was charged Monday with two counts of third-degree domestic assault. Domestic Violence Victim Was Strong Woman, Daughter Says

"If this could happen to my Mom, it could happen to anybody," said Linda Cerutti's daughter, Carrie Brackett.

Linda Cerutti wasn’t what people think of when they think of domestic violence victims, said her daughter, Carrie Brackett. “My mother is by far the strongest person I have ever known in my life,” Brackett said a few days after her mother died June 10. “She was the person I would call for just about anything. I leaned on her. Now, I can’t do that.” Cerutti, of St. Charles, died June 10 from injuries from a May 29 attack. Her live-in boyfriend, Steven Martineau was charged Friday with second-degree murder. He was charged with third-degree domestic assault on Cerutti in February.
