The shelter finds homes for over 500 animals each year. The Shelter offers presentations for the community about animals and animal topics free of charge. The Post donates American flags, hosts bingo events at the veterans' home, visits nursing homes, and donates money to civic and charitable groups. It was first incorporated in 1919 and, in the 1970s, the legion moved to its current location.
