Road Reconstruction Grant Could Revive St. Charles Trolley Service

The St. Charles City Council has approved the submission of a grant application for the reconstruction of Fifth Street—with the condition that St. Charles bring back its trolley service.

"Last time we had a TIGER grant discussion, the council agreed to take the trolleys out …

Here at Patch, we like to be thrifty, so we talked to two barbeque experts and uncovered some really good ideas to help you save money on your next outdoor party. 1. Start with a marinade. This means planning ahead -- say, Friday. But it’s worth it, says Rick Browne, host of Barbeque America on PBS, because you can pass up that well-marbled ribeye steak and buy a less tender and less expensive choice to grill like a flank steak or chuck steak. Just marinate it or brine for one or two days and then cook long and slow on the barbeque grill to break down tissues but maintain moisture. “You need to include an acid in the marinade, perhaps juice, vinegar or soy sauce, but avoid cola which is so acidic it can turn meat into a soggy mess.” Try …

St. Charles Restaurant Inspections: Fast Food, Bars and Grills and More

Check out the most recent food inspection reports from St. Charles County Health Department from February and March 2013.

St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment regularly inspects food service establishments throughout St. Charles County, except for within limits of St. Peters. The establishments begin with a score of 100 and points are deducted based on the severity of problems observed. According to the department's website, a low score does not mean the restaurant was unsafe on the day of the inspection.
