Di Olivas is an olive oil and balsamic vinegar emporium. The location in St. Charles opened March 1, 2011. Di Olivas has more than fifteen types of balsamic vinegar and many types of extra virgin olive oil. The store has a bottle recycling program as well. If customers bring a clean and dry bottle to the store, it will be refilled and the customer will get $1 off the purchase of the next bottle.

It's too bad we had such a HORRIBLE experience at a place we found interesting and wanted to return to! My friend and I came in and were greeted by a friendly young woman who explained the premise and welcomed us to taste. We tasted around 5 olive oils or balsamic vinegars and discussed how great we thought the store was and how we could wait to return to St. Charles (our home town) to buy gifts at the store. As we were walking out a middle aged gentlema--, well, not gentleman, stopped us to ask what our favorite was and we replied. We had small talk and then he asked "What is keeping you from walking out with something today?" We were surprised by this question since we weren't standing on a used car lot and told him we were just wandering around downtown. He said something along the lines of "I don't see why that means you don't want to take something with you today." We probably looked like deer in the headlights, it was SO AWKWARD! We said "thanks" and exited and were still upset about this experience hours later, and here I am today still weirded out by it!
I first visited Di Olivas in the West County Mall. I loved the store. I was visiting with my mother and sister. The woman working was friendly and helpful. When I heard a store was opening in St. Charles I was excited.
I have visited the store in St. Charles three times. Each time Robert has been working and assisting customers. He was very welcoming and friendly on each occasion. Robert made sure to greet each customer and explain the tasting process. When asked for suggestions for recipes or uses, he has many ideas.
The products I have purchased have all exceeded my expectations. I can't wait to visit again.
