10 Fun Things to do in St. Louis Oct. 4-6

Check out what's happening around town this weekend.


Third annual Ambassadors of Lake Saint Louis Oktoberfest: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 5 and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 6 at the National Equestrian Center, at 6880 Lake St Louis Blvd  Lake St Louis, MO 63367. The event features carnival rides, vendors, a children's area, pony rides, clowns, face painting and a beer hoisting contest.

MO Cowbell Race: Head to St. Charles Oct. 6 to watch or participate in the MO Cowbell marathon, half marathon, half marathon relay and 5k race. Registration is now open. The course runs from Frontier Park to New Town and back.

Ottertoberfest: The zoo is hosting ottertoberfest, an event with a biergarten, live music, kids activities and more. Live entertainment at the beer tent from noon to 3 p.m., river otter keeper chats at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Oct. 5, 6, 12 and 13.

Halloween at Grant's Farm: Celebrate Halloween at Grant's Farm every weekend in October from 6 to 10 p.m. Cost is $5 per person for walk-ins. Event will feature dark deer park rides, halloween themed shows, carousel rides and goat feeding and sampling two Anheuser-Busch products for people 21 and older.

Pedal the Cause: St. Louis riders will participate in the fundraiser to benefit St. Louis Children's Hospital and Siteman Cancer Center. Choose your race length, from 15 miles to a century ride.

Best of Missouri Market: Head to the Missouri Botanical Gardens for the Best of Missouri Market, Oct. 4-6. More than 120 food producers and crafters will have items for sale. Admission is $12 for adults.

Cottle Waddle: The Cottleville Business Association is hosting the Cottle Waddle, a day-long crawl from business to business in Cottleville sampling various beverages. The event is Oct. 5 from 3 to 7 p.m. Live music in the street follows from 7 to 11 p.m.

Sunday Funday: Head to historic north Main Street in St. Charles on Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. Oct. 6. A DJ will perform from 1 to 3 p.m. and Staggercatt performs from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wristbands available for food samples.

30th Annual City of Rock Hill Fall Festival: The 30th Annual City of Rock Hill Fall Festival will be from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Market at McKnight, 9500 Manchester Rd. Oct. 5. There will be non-stop entertainment at two stages throughout the entire day. The Festival’s Taste of Rock Hill food event and Classic Car Competition will run all day.

Rotary Club of Webster Groves 55th Annual Pancake Festival: Head to the annual pancake festival from 11 to 1:30 p.m. or 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Webster Hills Methodist Church Christian Life Center, Lockwood & Berry, Webster Groves. Donations are $8 per adult and $4 for children 12 and under. Proceeds go to local charities and scholarships. In addition to good food and good company and a good cause, and baseball on TV.

Bonus event:
The Asian Heritage Festival: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 8020 Olive Boulevard at International Plaza in University City. Event features food from area restaurants, more than 30 booths and Kung Fu, Thai drummers, Japanese Flower arranging, Asian dance, music and arts and crafts.
