Six Ways to Volunteer Your Time

Pollinator Palooza Event Volunteers

Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House is kicking off National Pollinator Week (June 18-24) this year with our 2nd Annual Pollinator Palooza on Sunday, June 17th. Families will visit the Butterfly House and learn about how pollinators help our everyday lives. We will have games and crafts to entertain and educate the kids. Volunteers are needed to help children with games, crafts and activities. The volunteer shift will be from 11:30-3:30.

Volunteer Greeter at Five Acres Animal Shelter

You can be the first person a family meets when they come to hoping to adopt a new cat or dog. Our greeters make the first impression on excited, energetic and sometimes nervous guests. This job is about 75% seated and only requires minimal training on using the our phone system. We have available hours most days of the week and we would love to have you join us! Work with Children at St. Louis Crisis Nursery

Volunteers assist professional staff at the five Crisis Nursery locations in St. Louis by helping care for the children. A criminal records check and training are required. Those interested in volunteering at Crisis Nursery North, Wentzville, call MaryPat Smith at 314-229-0708 or email at marypat@crisisnurserykids.org.

Work as a Docent at the Heald House in O'Fallon

Volunteer docents would open and close the house for touris, present a prepared script to visitors, answer questions, and verify cash balance with the greeter at the end of the day. Help at the O'Fallon Senior Center

Volunteers are neded to keep the O'Fallon Senior Center looking tidy. They would dust the entire center, except for the offices, and clean the windows. Learn more by contacting Alex Jaegers at (636) 379-5408.

Wentzville-Lake Saint Louis Junior Chamber

Get involved with the local Jaycees who volunteer at local events. The organization is open to anyone ages 18-40 who are dedicated to local community projects. Learn more here.
