Get Involved: Help At Crisis Nursery, Race for the Rivers

Check out five ways you can give back this month.

Activities with children at
Aug. 18, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. 
Volunteers will facilitate activities with children at the nursery and organize donations that the agency receives. Sign up to help at the St. Charles location.

Golf Program Tournament Assistants

Volunteers are needed to serve as caddies for the participants of our golf program as they celebrate the end of their season Aug. 14 from noon to 4 p.m. Responsibilities include driving participants in golf carts and assisting golfers with their golf bags.  No experience or knowledge of golf is necessary, but volunteer must have a valid driver's license and be able to lift a golf bag. Poker Tournament Dealers

Volunteer as a dealer for our poker fundraising event Aug. 17 from 6 to 11 p.m. Don't worry if your dealing skills are not up-to-snuff or if you’ve never dealt before!  Volunteers must attend a dealer training/refresher course (date and time T.B.D) at the St. Louis Arc Family Center (1177 N. Warson, 63132) prior to the event.  Dealers will work in pairs at the event.  Must be over 21 to deal. Race for the Rivers Gate Guards

Race for the Rivers is in need of gate guards on Aug. 25 at in St. Charles, MO. All you have to do is sit in a chair at one of the openings to the park and inform people (probably never have to) that alcohol is not allowed in or out of the festival area. Contact greenwaynetwork@gmail.com

Assist with United Way booth at Festival of Nations

Volunteers will assist at the United Way of Greater St. Louis booth at the Festival of Nations in Tower Grove Park. Volunteers are needed at various times on both Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26.

Saturday, 8/25, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, 8/25, 1-4 p.m., Saturday, 8/25, 4-7 p.m., Sunday, 8/26, 10 a.m. - noon, Sunday, 8/26, noon - 2 p.m., Sunday, 8/26, 2-4 p.m., Sunday, 8/26, 4-6 p.m.
