Are You Ready for Missouri Day?

Museums and historic sites from all over Missouri converge on the First Missouri State Capitol SHS on Wed. October 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In 1915, our state legislature mandated a special day to commemorate all that is Missouri. This is our second year of celebrating Missouri Day and this year we decided to highlight famous Missourians.

Dutifully we gathered our lists and started planning our cardboard displays when it dawned on us, we should invite the museums and historic sites who know these folks the best.

On Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., we will have representatives from the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, Laura Ingalls Wilder Home, Bonniebrook (Rose O'Neill), Whitehaven (Ulysses Grant), Bellefontaine Cemetery (this list of famous people buried there is HUGE) and more are confirming every day.

This a tremendous opportunity to visit with this sites without having to travel the breadth and width of Missouri. They will be in your backyard. We are honored to have them from all over the state.

Now we need you. Ask your schools, community groups, scouts troops, after school programs and more to come and visit. We need to show these institutions how much St. Charles cares about their Missouri heroes. This program is FREE. Hope to see you there!
