Bartenders Battle to Become Big Kahuna in Benefit for Nonprofit
Come out and watch as volunteer bartenders compete for the title of "Big Kahuna" to raise money for Community Living Inc.
For the 10th year in a row, volunteer bartenders from St. Charles County will go head-to-head in a battle to raise the most money for Community Living, Inc. and earn the coveted “Big Kahuna” title. Area residents are invited to cheer on their favorite teams at the event, which will take place on Thursday, July 26, from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Side Pockets, located at 1439 Bass Pro Dr. in St. Charles.
This year’s Big Kahuna Bartender Challenge will kick off with a special VIP event from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. For $20, VIPs will receive a beverage, appetizers, reserved seating, the opportunity to mix and mingle with a local celebrity, and a raffle ticket to enter into a drawing for the chance to win a special prize.
Following the VIP event, volunteer bartenders will work for one hour to raise the most money, with all proceeds, including tips and the $5 cover charge, benefiting Community Living’s programs and services for people with disabilities in St. Charles County. The team that raises the most money will win the 2012 “Big Kahuna” title.

“The popularity of the Big Kahuna Bartender Challenge has skyrocketed and is one of St. Charles’ most anticipated summer events,” said Barbara James, Annual Giving Coordinator for Community Living. “The evening gives individuals the chance to party with friends, while supporting a great cause.”
