What's Open and What's Closed on the Fourth of July?

As St. Charles celebrates the Fourth of July with this long weekend, many local businesses are changing their hours to give employees a holiday break.

The following is a list of what Patch found to be open and closed over the holiday.
 
Government Offices

  • City of St. Charles: City Hall will be closed July 4. 
  • Trash Collection: Trash will not be collected on Thursday, July 4. The Thursday routes will be collected on Friday and the Friday routes will be collected on Saturday. 
  • St. Charles County: County government offices will be closed.
  • St. Charles City-County Library District: Branches will be closed Thursday, but will reopen Friday.
  • U.S. Postal Service: Post offices are closed and mail will not be delivered Thursday, but the postal service schedule resumes with offices open and mail delivered on Friday.

Attractions/Entertainment
  • St. Louis Zoo: Open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m Thursday.
Businesses
  • Bass Pro will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 4.
