Darby O'Toole's Hosting Free Car Cruise June 22

It's a rite of summer—cruises and car shows.

Cars with fenders polished, chrome buffed, hoods propped open to display engines so clean they could have come right off the showroom floor.

The smell of Armor-All and Turtle Wax and Budweiser wafting through the summer breeze.

You can enjoy it all this coming Saturday, June 22, at Darby O'Toole's Pub and Grub, 2731 Veterans Memorial Parkway in St. Charles. (Yes, the old "Mr. Steak" location.)

Besides cars, there will be a DJ spinning tunes and barbecue and drink specials.

Registration is free, so everyone can have the chance to show off that treasured antique, vintage hot rod or tricked-out muscle car. The event begins at noon and runs until—well, until the last set of tail lights disappears down the road.

Wish I still had that '69 Javelin I drove in high school . . .
