St. Charles County, Missouri  With the Fourth of July just a few days away, St. Charles County Sheriff Tom Neer would like to remind residents in unincorporated and incorporated areas of the county about the following fireworks regulations:

  • Residents in unincorporated county are allowed to discharge fireworks on July 2, 3, 4, and 5, 2014, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. only. Persons 15 years of age and younger must be under adult supervision.
  • It is unlawful for residents in unincorporated areas to discharge any fireworks containing a stick or fins, such as bottle rockets. This regulation does not apply to public fireworks shows in unincorporated areas that have a fireworks permit.
  • Residents of incorporated municipalities should contact their municipal police department for fireworks regulations.
  • Please note that St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department deputies will seize fireworks that are discharged unlawfully and a court summons will be issued to the violator.
  • Please do not call 911 to report unlawful use of fireworks. Instead, contact your municipal police department or call St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department Dispatch at (636) 949-0809.

“These regulations help ensure that Independence Day is a fun and safe day for everyone in the community,” said Neer. “We appreciate the cooperation of our citizens.”
