St. Charles County Collector Awarded Chancellor's Certificate of Public Administration from UMSL

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO - Michelle McBride, St. Charles County Collector of Revenue, has earned a Chancellor’s Certificate of Public Administration: Finance Master from the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL). The certificate was awarded at the Annual Meeting of the National Association of County Collectors, Treasurers, and Finance Officers (NACCTFO) on July 18. To qualify for the certification, McBride attended at least 100 hours of public administration training through UMSL’s program in Public Policy Administration in partnership with NACCTFO.

“I pursued the certificate to enhance my professional knowledge of property tax collections, general management best practices, and human resource laws,” said McBride.

Dr. Deborah Balser, Director and Associate Professor of the Public Policy Administration Program at UMSL, which coordinates the program, said in a statement that McBride’s completion of the program is a testament to commitment to public service.

 

“UMSL's Chancellor's Certificate Program gives county finance professionals an opportunity to keep up to date on best practices and learn how to more efficiently administer the duties of their offices,” said Dr. Balser.

 

McBride started working in the Collector of Revenue’s office in 2000 and was elected as Collector of Revenue in 2006. She took office March 1, 2007. Along with this certificate, McBride holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Science in Administration with a Management Focus from Lindenwood University.
