Caulks Hill Road to Close Between Bluff Forest Lane and Greens Bottom Road Beginning Aug. 26

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO – The St. Charles County Highway Department will close Caulks Hill Road between Bluff Forest Lane and Greens Bottom Road beginning Monday, August 26, 2013, to allow for continued construction of the new Caulks Hill Road improvements.

Traffic will be required to use the signed detour route for approximately seven weeks while the new road section is being built. Local traffic can access either side of the closure location, but no through traffic will be permitted. Motorists can access Caulks Hill Road using Towers Road to Pitman Hill Road to Greens Bottom Road. Signs notifying motorists of the closure and the necessary detours will be posted. The County will use changeable message boards to notify residents of any date changes of the closure and opening.

This construction is part of a continuing effort by St. Charles County Government to improve the county’s road system for the safety of the community. The Caulks Hill Road project includes wider lanes and the addition of curbs, gutters and sidewalks. The horizontal and vertical alignment will also be improved to provide better sight distance for drivers.
