Local Teams Prepare for Softball Districts
Orchard Farm is 14-7 heading into district tournament, which starts Wednesday.
Softball districts get underway Wednesday at Lindenwood University for several local teams.
Class 3 District 6 is made up of St. Charles, Orchard Farm, St. Charles West, Duchesne, Winfield and Wright City High Schools.
At 5 p.m. Wednesday, (6-18) will face Orchard Farm (14-7), a team whose offense has carried them through the season.

Junior pitcher Emily Echele has played a big role in keeping the team together, coach Deb Wynn told the Stlhighschoolsports.com, both as a pitcher and on offense.
During the regular season, Echele hit .362 with 27 RBIs. She's also pitched 14 complete games.

. Sophomore Katelyn Kuhn has hig .373, with two doubles and seven RBIs on the the season, a team high.
St. Charles West (6-18) plays Duchesne (3-20) at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Duchesne is 1-4 in the Gateway Athletic Conference North with just two returning varsity players this year. The Pioneers went several weeks before picking up the season's first win against Rosati-Kain. The team's other wins this season came against St. Charles West and Wright City.
Duchesne Coach Tbut continues to show a good effort.
St. Charles West is 2-5 in the GAC North and has been outscored 107-209 on the season. The team has averaged 4.5 runs a game, but allowed an average 8.7 runs.
Pitcher Brooke Camenzind has 26 strikeouts and six complete games.
The winner of the Orchard Farm/St. Charles and St. Charles West/Duchesne game will play at 4:30 p.m. Oct 6 at Lindenwood University.
Winfield plays the winner of the Lutheran St. Charles/Wright City game at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 6.
The championship game for Class 3 District 6 is set for 4:30 p.m. Oct. 7.
Francis Howell North High School competes in Class 4 District 7 tournament this week. The team is 17-9 overall, but only 1-5 in the GAC South.
FHN will face Francis Howell Central Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Fort Zumwalt South High School. FHC is 4-17 on the year and 1-5 in the league.
The teams played twice this season and the Knights came out on top both times, winning 3-2 and 4-0.
Brandi Kiel has been an important asset to the Knights, hitting .539 with three doubles and two triples.
The winner of the FHN/FHC game will play the winner of the Ft. Zumwalt South/Parkway Central game.
