High School Basketball District Seedings Released

Francis Howell and Francis Howell Central High Schools will host girls’ and boys’ basketball district tournaments beginning Feb. 25. 

In the girls Class 5 District 6 tournamentat Francis Howell, Troy Buchannan has the top seed, followed by Ft. Zumwalt West, Francis Howell, Holt and Timberland.

The first round matchup has Holt playing Timberland at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 25.  The winner will take on Troy in the semifinals. The other semifinals will have Fort Zumwalt West taking on Francis Howell.

Troy Buchannan also has the top seed for the boys’ District 6 tournament. The Trojans are followed by Timberland, Zumwalt West, Holt and Howell. The first round matchup has Howell taking on Holt, with the winner take on Troy in the semifinals. The other semifinal game has Timberland playing Zumwalt West.

In the girls’ Class 5 District 7 tournament at Central, Ft. Zumwalt South has the top seed, followed by Howell North, Zumwalt North, Howell Central and Zumwalt East.  The opening game has Howell Central to play Zumwalt East with the winner to play Zumwalt South in the semifinals. The other semifinal game will have Francis Howell North playing Zumwalt North.

In the boys’ District 7 tournament, it’s Zumwalt North with the top seed, followed by Zumwalt South, Howell Central, Zumwalt East, and Howell North.  The first round game will have Howell North against Zumwalt East with the winner advancing to play Zumwalt North in the semis. The other semifinal contest will have Howell Central against Zumwalt South.

The championship games are scheduled for March 1.
