St. Charles Parks Hosts Planning Session for New 110 Acre Park

The St. Charles Parks & Recreation Board has recently taken possession of a 110-acre site on the Missouri riverfront and has engaged Jacobs Engineering to create a master plan to turn it into a park. The public is invited to assist in creating the new park so that it meets the community’s needs. This second planning session for the park will include:

• A presentation of the park location: Area Context, Existing Site Conditions at the mobile home buy-out site along with a review of Opportunities & Constraints affecting development of the floodplain site.
• A review of the park program and schematic design Criteria.
• A hands-on breakout session for those in attendance to:
o Discuss the pros and cons of the concepts
o Rank the concepts against the design criteria
A wrap-up discussion will be held to summarize the session’s findings.

A third and final workshop session will be held before the end of the year to review a draft master plan based on the schematic concepts.
