Travis Vaught wins the "Patch" Athlete of the Week Award.

Travis Vaught had a big week on the baseball diamond for the Francis Howell Central Spartans last week. He did even better in the Athlete of the Week voting.

Vaught trounced the field in the St. Charles County Patch Athlete of the Week poll. Out of the nearly 400 votes cast, Vaught picked up a whopping 96 percent to easily win the award.

Vaught did it all last week for the Spartans. Vaught opened the week on April 24 with a stat-filling performance. In Howell Central's 8-3 win, Vaught was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three runs batted in. To top it off, he added two stolen bases. The next day, against Vianney, Vaught walked once and scored two runs in the Spartans' win. To close out the week, Vaught went 1-for-3 against Fort Zumwalt West.
