Update: One Person Drops Out of Francis Howell Board of Education Race

Six candidates file in St. Charles School Board; Orchard Farm School Board won't hold election.

Update: 

Chad Lange has decided to drop out of the race for the Francis Howell Board of Education, just a day after the close of filing, according to a press release from the school district. 

That leaves just four people running for two open seats on the Board of Education, including incumbents Amy McEvoy and Cynthia Bice.

McEvoy, a Missouri Options teacher at Maplewood Richmond Heights High School, was first elected to the school board in 2010. 

Bice also has completed one term on the board. She's the Dean of the School of Education at Lindenwood University.

Other candidates include: Robert Faltisek and Tony Yakich, a 2005 graduate of Francis Howell North High School. 

St. Charles Board of Education

Six people have filed to run for St. Charles Board of Education. The election will be April 2. The two highest vote-getters will serve a three-year term. 

Candidates include:

  • Incumbent Donna Towers, who has served three terms on the Board of Education.
  • Incumbent Mike Thorne, who has served two terms on the Board of Education.
  • Second-time candidate Marita Malone, an assistant professor at St. Louis University and former FBI agent who ran for the Board of Education in 2012.
  • Ron Alfred
  • Sylvia Garzia
  • Howard Faith, son of Mayor Sally Faith and former facilities employee for the school district. 

Orchard Farm Board of Education

The Orchard Farm School District won't hold an election in April because only two people filed for the two open seats. Incumbent Joe Bushdieker will serve a second term and former Board member and former State Rep.Kenny Biermann will fill the other position.
