Local Restaurants Support Sterling Thomas Fund Tuesday

A group of local restaurants will offer 10 percent of total receipts on Tuesday from 5 to 9 p.m.

Several local restaurants are helping to raise money to benefit a Lindenwood University football player who suffered a spinal cord injury in a game against Missouri Southern Oct. 27.

Sterling Thomas was later moved to the Shepherd Center Spinal Cord Injury Program in Atlanta, GA.

University students have rallied to support Thomas with a prayer event and various fundraisers. A restaurant fundraiser is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 27, because Thomas wore No. 27.

Restaurants will donate at least 10 percent of their total receipts from people who present a flier between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Nov. 27. The money will go toward the Sterling Thomas Fund, created to offset Thomas's medical expenses.

The University has various items for sale online to benefit the fund. Donations can also be made to the “Sterling Thomas Contribution Account” at Bank of Oklahoma branches.

Restaurants participating in the fundraiser include:

Yeah, it saddened us when we realized that someone had discretely made a generous item donation butRead More had left their wallet in the donated gym bag. Our social media director Dawn Thomas was able to locate the teen and "Renew that Treasure " to it's owner. It gave us all such joy!
