Filing Opens for St. Charles Board of Education

Wayne Oetting, who has served 13 terms on the Board of Education, is up for reelection along with Tim Bekebrede.

The filing period starts on Tuesday for residents interested in running for a position on the St. Charles Board of Education. The election is scheduled for April 3.

Two seats on the St. Charles Board of Education–those belonging to Tim Bekebrede and Wayne Oetting–are up for reelection in 2012. Bekebrede was elected for the first time in 2009. Oetting has served on the board for 13 terms.

Filing opens at 7:30 a.m. Dec. 13 at the district office.

The office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday or 7:30 to 4 p.m. on Fridays, with the exception of the following:

  • Days with inclement weather
  • Dec. 19 to Jan. 1, when the district offices are closed
  • Jan. 16

The filing period ends at 5 p.m. Jan. 17.

St. Charles City Council

The St. Charles City Council won't have anyone up for election in 2012. In 2007, the council changed to staggered election cycle. Council members serve three year terms. Council districts 1-5 were up for election in 2011; council districts 6-10 will be up for election again in 2013.
