Representative Chrissy Sommer's Capitol Report - Legislative Update April 30 – May 3, 2012

This upcoming Sunday May 13th is mother’s day… The idea for Mother’s Day started with Ann Jarvis in Philadelphia in 1907. It was officially designated by Congress in 1914 and the proclamation was signed by President Woodrow Wilson.

With only 2 weeks left in the session the frenzy and flurry of activity in the Capitol is ramped with bills flying back and forth between the House and Senate. It’s not always easy in Jefferson City to get things done and at times it can be a bit frustrating. However, the attribute that gets us all through trying times at our job and in our personal lives is perseverance. I have found these first few months that I have been honored to serve you in the Capitol as inspiring and exhilarating. It is hard to explain the gratitude I have for being elected to serve and I hope to be blessed to continue serving next year and the coming years.
