Why Lift your Jeep?

The fact is a lifted Jeep on a vehicle looks awesome! All you need is a lift, big tires, and new set of wheels to totally change the look of your jeep. Another reason to add a lift is to improve your vehicle off-road performance, which could allow ground clearance, greater articulation and driving through more extreme obstacles.   

There are different types of lift, a Body Lift is usually around 1-3 inches and it is the most cost effective and relatively inexpensive.  A body lift on your jeep involved adding rubber spacers between the frame mounts and the body, also it is easier to install. Body lift will not improve off-road performance or ground clearance to your vehicle but it will make your jeep look great.

Another type of lift is a Suspension Lift; this kind of lift is awesome for improving ground clearance and off-road capabilities. Now adding a suspension lift is a bit more costly, but it will improve the quality of the ride.  There are two terms that jeep owner with the suspension lift should know, and they are long-arm suspension lift and short-arm lift. The long-arm lift replaces the suspension components and allows better articulation over extreme obstacles, while the short-arm lift a basic suspension lift that is a little less expensive and has limitations because it changes the stock geometry of the jeep and then the ride is affected.

With the lifts you would need to add the use of larger tires. Having the larger tires will improve the look, help the vehicle with going through larger obstacles on the trails and won’t rub against the body and cause wear and tear on the vehicle. Just remember that all vehicles are built with specific tire size.

With new tires, come wheels. There is such a wide variety of designs to choose from when adding a set of new wheels to your jeep.  Just remember that wheel backspacing and rim width for particular tires are important to consider.
