William Lohmar Will Be New Municipal Judge

The position now pays $42,000 a year.

William Lohmar, 64, will continue to stay involved as a judge in St. Charles County. On Tuesday, he was elected as municipal judge for the City of St. Charles, winning 53.9 percent of the vote.

A total of 9,473 people cast a vote in the race.

Other candidates, Paul Kaiser, 61, an attorney in St. Charles, took 19.48 percent of the vote and former Ward 1 City Councilman Richard Veit, 49,  an attorney in St. Charles, took 26.19 percent.

Lohmar retired as St. Charles Circuit Court Judge in December and has returned to private practice. He said he will be able to devote whatever time is needed to help make the docket less burdensome. One technique he said he will consider is scheduling more court dates, or having special court dates only for residents or only for attorneys.
