Water Boil Order Lifted in St. Charles and St. Peters

Cities lift water boil order following normal lab results.

A water boil order has been lifted in St. Charles and St. Peters following a water main break on Friday afternoon.
Crews from both cities worked for more than 40 hours to repair the break to the secondary water main that brings water from the city of St. Louis. The break was repaired on Saturday and officials recommended residents boil their water before consuming it Saturday.
Lab results show that the water is now safe and back to normal levels, according to a joint press release from both cities.
According to water officials, residents do not need to flush their water lines. However, if you have an ice maker in your refrigerator, you run one or two cycles of ice and discard them before consuming ice from your ice maker.
