St. Charles Election Results

Sally Faith is new mayor of St. Charles.

St. Charles voters elected State Rep. Sally Faith as the new mayor of the city Tuesday. With all of the precincts reporting, Faith had won 5,356 votes or 52.20 percent of the vote.

Patti York, who has been mayor of the city for 12 years, won 4,872 or 47.49 percent of the vote.

Around 9 p.m., when there was one precinct left to report, York addressed her crowd of supporters and conceded the election. York said she's so grateful for all the work they put in to her campaign and that she's proud of her 12 years as mayor and everything she's accomplished in that time.

"With all of your help, you've changed the face of the city for good," she said.

Winning 53.9 percent of the vote, former St. Charles County Circuit Judge Bill Lohmar is the new municipal judge. Mary Ann Ohms, an attorney and political newcomer, is the Ward 1 City Councilman, winning 38.44 percent of the vote.

Tom Besselmann is the new Ward 2 City Councilman, defeating incumbent Larry Muench and two other candidates with 36.29 percent of the vote.

Council members Laurie Feldman, Ward 3, Bob Kneemiller, Ward 4, and Michael Weller, Ward 5, were all re-elected.

With 24 precincts out of 24 reporting:

Sally Faith 5,356 votes, 52.20 percent

Patti York 4,872 votes, 47.49 percent

Write-in Votes: 32 votes, 0.31 percent

 

Municipal Judge

With 24 precincts out of 24 reporting:

Paul Kaiser 1,845 votes, 19.48 percent

William Lohmar 5,106 votes, 53.90 percent

Richard Veit 2,481 votes, 26.19 percent

Write-in Votes: 41 votes, 0.43 percent

 

Ward 1 City Councilmember

With 6 precincts out of 6 reporting:

Kenny Biermann 485 votes, 36.77 percent

Mary Ann Ohms 507 votes, 38.44 percent

Rory Riddler 327 votes, 24.79 percent 

Write-in Votes 0

 

Ward 2 City Councilmember

With 3 precincts out of 3 reporting:

Tom Besselmann 248 votes, 36.26 percent

Bill Conrey 112 votes, 15.51 percent

Venetia McEntire 101 votes, 13.99 percent

Larry Muench 244 votes, 33.80 percent

Write-in Votes: 3 votes, 0.42 percent

 

Ward 3 City Councilmember

With 4 precincts out of 4 reporting:

Laurie Feldman, 601 votes, 96.62 percent

Write-in Votes: 21 votes, 3.38 percent

 

Ward 4 City Councilmember

With 6 precincts out of 6 reporting:

Bob Kneemiller 583 votes, 96.84 percent

Write-in Votes: 19 votes, 3.16 percent

 

Ward 5 City Councilmember

With 5 precincts out of 5 reporting:

Nathan Schauf 554 votes, 47.59 percent

Mike Weller 606 votes,  52.06 percent

Write-in Votes 4, 0.34 percent
