  • Family: Married – wife Laura 26 years
  • Education: High school graduate.
  • Occupation: Small business owner, John Dengler Tobacconist - 94 years in our family.
  • Party affiliation: Republican. City politics are non-partisan.
  • Previous elected offices: City Council Ward 2 Councilman, April 2001 - present.
  • Applicable experience: Served on almost every board and commission of our city.

What is the primary reason you are running for this office?

I want to see the post office moved so our hospital can expand, but I also want to see the Lindenwood Town Center project completed with our new grocery store, retail and jobs.

What will be your single most important priority if you get elected? 

Public Safety… We are a safe community, but there are areas we can do better, like neighborhood crime prevention and the bar situation on North Main.

What sets you apart from the other candidates, if contested?

My 10 years experience on the council and my being able to work effectively with the current members of this council.

How long have you lived in St. Charles? 24 years.

What's your favorite thing about St. Charles?

The people and, even though we're a big city, we retain the small town charm.

What is the biggest problem in St. Charles?

Lack of retail, we have some great projects going on that will hopefully bring us what we lack.
