Councilman Jerry Reese, Ward-6, has served nine years on the St. Charles City Council. He said he'd like to continue to serve so he can see through the completion of the new fire station and public works building.

"I really enjoy doing it," he said. "I like working with the people in St. Charles. I really would like to try to do it again."

Ward 10

Bridget Ohmes is in her last few months of her first term on the city council and says she's planning to run again. "I feel like there's a lot of things I can still contribute," she said.

Ohmes said it takes about a year to figure out a lot of the process for being a city council member.

"I think it's a continual learning experience," she said. "I am still finding out new things all the time."

Mayor May Appoint Someone to Fill Ward 8 Seat Until April Election

Councilman Mike Klinghammer, Ward-8, won election in November to represent Ward 6 on the St. Charles County Council.

Mayor Sally Faith said she is considering various people interested in filling the seat until the April election. The council would have to approve her appointment. The person appointed would have to decide whether to run for reelection.

"I'll be pulling things together," Faith said. "I've got to make that decision soon."

Also up for reelection are Dave Beckering, Ward 7, and Ron Stivison, Ward 9. Both Beckering and Stivison have served two terms on the St. Charles City Council.
