Matt Ehlen Seeks State Rep. Sally Faith's House Seat

Faith was elected mayor of St. Charles April 5.

Matt Ehlen, president of the Lewis and Clark Pachyderm Club, plans to run for Sally Faith’s open seat in the state House of Representatives. Faith was elected as mayor of St. Charles April 5.

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon can call a special election to fill the rest of Faith’s term, which ends in 2012. If that happens, members of the St. Charles County Central Committee would nominate a candidate to take the position.

Ehlen, 31, works in finance at Boeing. He has served as president of the St. Charles County Young Republicans and currently treasurer of the group. Ehlen said he is seeking the house seat for District 15 because he feels like he knows how things work in Jefferson City.

“Through campaigns I’ve worked on, I’ve met a lot of really great people that are current representatives,” he said. “I’d love nothing more than to be in Jeff City and work with them on these issues.”
